About Us
Sunrise Communications is a Cable TV & High-Speed Internet provider that began operations in 2007.
Sunrise purchased, rebuilt and upgraded the defunct cable system that previously serviced six of the eight areas Sunrise will eventually operate in. Those six areas are: Cedarville/Hessel, Drummond Island, Onaway, Hillman, Mullet Lake and Atlanta.
In May 2007 Sunrise purchased the systems that operate in Pickford and Posen.
Sunrise's objective has been to rebuild and upgrade these system and provide Sunrise subscribers the benefits or real broadband High-Speed Internet and quality Cable TV.
Sunrise's systems are in rural areas in northern Michigan. There are no traffic signals in any of the communities Sunrise serves - only "blinking light intersections." These rural locations provide many operational challenges due to the distances and harsh weather conditions, but Sunrise's staff is geared to successfully meet these challenges.
Our crews have been working diligently for the past year to update and improve the existing equipment and test the integrity of the system plant in order to be able to provide high qualilty services to our subscribers.
The Cedarville/Hessel/Pickford system was fully operational in July 2007 and the Onaway system was fully operational in October 2007.
Sunrise’s Hillman system was fully operational in July 2008, and the Drummond Island system will be fully operational, tested and launched in September 2008.
The remaining systems Sunrise plans to rebuild, upgrade and launch are Mullett Lake with a forecasted completion date of September 2008, and Atlanta with a forecasted completion date of December 2008.
Sunrise is very excited about opportunities to provide local programming in some systems via Sunrise Cable Network.

Rose has 15 years of experience in the cable tv business. Her role at Sunrise will assure that every subscriber will have someone dedicated to quickly and professionally answer their questions. Rose will spend time in the field coordinating service calls with technicians. She will also make visits to potential subscriber's homes to evaluate all issues related to their receiving a quality signal and a professional installation. | |

Angie brings experience in both accounting and managing a business office. Her skills will be applied to all aspects of Sunrise's operations - from accounting and computer systems to overall administration and subscriber services. Angie will also play a key role in the development of Sunrise Cable Network. | |
Brandon ShielTechnician |
Brandon joined Sunrise in the winter of '08 - he has demonstrated a keen interest and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. Brandon has also begun training on satellite and Head-End work. Brandon's prior work experience, which includes a stint working on Great Lakes boats, has provided him with both a mechanical and electrical background. Brandon lives in Onaway, MI. | |

Tom is a graduate of the Alpena Community College's Utility Technician Program. Tom is an OSHA Certified Pole Climber and American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certified. Tom has a natural ability to effectively work on installations and troubleshooting. Tom is taking additional training with advanced diagnostic equipment which will allow him to more thoroughly monitor system performance. The Sunrise systems where Tom will be primarily focused on will be Cedarville/Hessel/Pickford and Drummond Island. Tom lives in Dafter, MI. | |

Andrew EllenbergerTechnician | Andy brings a strong work background to Sunrise - his experience working at Ellenberger Lumber in Onaway, with local building contractors and his service with the U.S. Navy have provided excellent experience that Andy is building upon at Sunrise.
